Resolve Click to Dial issues with RingCentral Office

Overview: This article is to provide our Partner and Product team's joint recommendation around Click to Dial with RingCentral Office. Many of you have reached out about issues with Tenfold's Click to Dial Chrome Extension or the one found in our Chrome Extension Full UI, and we'd like to provide you steps to resolve your issues.

Determine how Click to Dial is currently enabled

Important

Before continuing to the instructions, determine your next steps based on your current configuration.

If you are not using the embedded app

The following variants of the Tenfold embedded app are available:

  • Microsoft Dynamics CIF

  • Salesforce OpenCTI

  • ServiceNow OpenFrame

  • Zendesk Embedded UI

If you are using a different CRM from those listed above, then you are not using the embedded app and it is likely you are using the Click to Dial Chrome Extension. Before installing the RingCentral Office app, uninstall the Click to Dial Chrome Extension.

If you are using the Tenfold Desktop app

If you have enabled Click to Dial in the past, it is likely you have the Click to Dial Chrome Extension installed. Before installing the RingCentral Office app, uninstall the Click to Dial Chrome Extension.

If you are using the Tenfold Chrome Extension UI

If you are currently using the full Tenfold Chrome Extension UI, you must disable it before installing RingCentral.

Uninstall the Click to Dial Chrome Extension

Refer to the previous section to determine if you need to perform this step.

  1. Right-click the Tenfold Click to Dial icon in Chrome and then click Remove from Chrome.

  2. Click Remove.

  3. Continue to the Install RingCentral for Google Chrome section.

Disable Click to Dial in the Tenfold Chrome Extension UI

  1. Left-click the Tenfold logo at the top right of Chrome.

  2. Turn off Default CTD Status and CTD Status.

  3. Reload your page to apply the new settings.

  4. Continue to the Install RingCentral for Google Chrome section.

Install RingCentral for Google Chrome

Note

Be sure you have performed any necessary steps before attempting to install RingCentral for Chrome.

  1. Visit the RingCentral App Gallery to download click the link to download the most current version of the RingCentral for Google Chrome extension.

  2. In the popup that displays, click Go Now.

    You will be directed to the RingCentral for Google page in the Chrome Web Store.

  3. Click Add to Chrome.

  4. Click the Extensions button in Chrome and then click pin.

  5. Left-click the Chrome extension icon and click Sign In on the RingCentral Click to Dial soft phone extension to sign in to your RingCentral account.

  6. After signing in, click Allow.

  7. After selecting your options, click Finish Setting.

  8. Click the More Menu and then click Settings > Calling.

  9. Select the RingCentral calling option you prefer under Make my calls with.

  10. Visit our Click to Dial test page to ensure everything is working properly. Hover over a number and the RingCentral logo and dialing and messaging options display.
